PHSA has opened BS Nursing admissions for 2026-2030 at 10 government colleges in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, closing October 16, 2026. Here's the eligibility criteria, fee, documents, and the Hifz-e-Quran bonus-marks option explained step by step.

The Provincial Health Services Academy (PHSA) has opened applications for its four-year BS Nursing programme for the 2026–2030 session, spread across ten government nursing colleges in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. If you've completed FSc Pre-Medical and have been considering nursing as a career, this is one of the more structured, affordable routes into the profession in the province — but the window to apply is short, and there are a few eligibility details that trip students up every year. Here's exactly what you need to know before you submit a form.

    Who can apply

To be eligible, you need an FSc Pre-Medical qualification (or its recognized equivalent) with at least 50 percent marks, and your subjects must include Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as compulsory components — a general science FSc without all three will not qualify. You must also have already appeared in the KMU-CAT (Khyber Medical University Combined Admission Test) for the 2026 session; PHSA has been explicit that candidates who did not sit the KMU-CAT this year are not eligible for this round, so if you skipped it, this particular admission cycle is not an option for you, regardless of your FSc percentage.

There's also an age ceiling: applicants must be no older than 35 years as of the application closing date. And admission is restricted by domicile — only candidates who hold a Khyber Pakhtunkhwa domicile, including the newly merged tribal districts, are eligible to apply for these seats.

    The ten participating colleges

Seats are spread across government nursing colleges including the Post Graduate College of Nursing in Hayatabad, the College of Nursing at Lady Reading Hospital, Hayatabad Medical Complex, and Khyber Teaching Hospital, along with Ayub Teaching Hospital in Abbottabad and colleges in Bannu, Swat, Mardan, Dera Ismail Khan, and Kohat. Because selection and interviews happen centrally through PHSA rather than at each individual college, you apply once and are considered across the network rather than to a single campus.

Deadline, fee, and how to apply

Applications must be submitted online through PHSA's own portal, and the window closes at 5:00 pm on October 16, 2026 — there's no indication of an extension being planned, so it's worth treating this as a firm cutoff rather than leaving your application to the last day. The processing fee is Rs. 500, deposited at any National Bank of Pakistan Aitemaad branch under the account title "DG Provincial Health Services Academy." Keep your paid deposit slip, since you'll need it as proof of payment alongside your application.

    The Hifz-e-Quran bonus option

One detail worth knowing if it applies to you: PHSA is holding a Hifz-e-Quran test on October 22, 2026, and candidates who hold a valid certificate from a registered Deeni Madrasa and pass this test receive 20 bonus marks added to their merit score. On a merit list where a handful of marks can be the difference between a seat and a wait-list position, this is a meaningful boost if you qualify for it — it's worth confirming with PHSA directly on the certificate requirements if you think you're eligible, since the bonus only applies with a certificate from a recognized madrasa.

    What happens after you apply

PHSA has indicated that shortlisted candidates will be announced on October 30, 2026, with interviews to follow at the PHSA office in Peshawar. Selection is on an open-merit basis, so it's worth having your FSc marksheet, KMU-CAT result, CNIC/B-Form, domicile certificate, and recent photographs ready well before the shortlist comes out, so you aren't scrambling to assemble documents in the narrow window between the shortlist announcement and your interview date.

If nursing is the path you're set on, the practical priorities right now are straightforward: confirm your FSc percentage and subject combination meet the 50 percent and PCB requirement, make sure your KMU-CAT 2026 result is in hand, deposit the Rs. 500 fee at an NBP Aitemaad branch, and get your online application in well ahead of the October 16 deadline rather than at the last hour.
